A graduate of extremely competitive Bay Area public schools and a longtime tutor, Michael understands what it takes for our students to reach the next level of academic success. He's running for the Milpitas Unified School District's Board of Trustees to bring our schools to a new level of excellence. We hope you'll join community, business, and educational leaders in supporting him on this mission.
Michael graduated from UC Berkeley in 2010. Afterwards he worked with technology startups, eventually being recognized by Netscape founder and venture capitalist Marc Andreessen as a tech "rock star". Michael also founded a successful tutoring business. As a tutor, he's seen that today's students aren't getting the support and personalized attention they need to reach their full academic potential. As a result, they are under-equipped to succeed in today's competitive job market and college admissions environment.
To remedy this, Michael will promote academic excellence in Milpitas schools at every grade level. This means policies to attract the best teachers, reducing class sizes, and expanding support for STEAM education, Advanced Placement classes, and extracurricular programs. Michael will emphasize technology and vocational education, and develop partnerships and internship programs with local high-tech employers, providing our with students relevant job skills and experiences for our competitive economy.
